To this end, data were collected from 50 first-year undergraduate students in two fields of study (Anthropology-Sociology and Psychology) at the Faculty of Ethnology of the State University of Haiti, using research questionnaires and systematic observation. These data were subjected to descriptive statistical analysis. Self-Determination Theory (Deci \u0026amp; Ryan, 1985) served as our guiding framework in this study. The research data demonstrated that the students were well-informed about their choice of study; feel comfortable and are adapting positively; attach great importance to their academic success; have a strong grasp of the concepts taught; and achieve remarkable academic performance. The respondents are satisfied with their choice of study.
