CHESS-LIKE ADAPTIVE WARGAMING SYSTEM CORE RULESET

CLAWS, the Chess-Like Adaptive Wargaming System, is an open, wargamer-friendly miniature war game system that allows any number of players to fight battles with any model soldiers they may have. CLAWS has specific lines of story and models in the form of published Modules/Supplements, but its primary rules are available in this CORE RULESET that you can apply to any models you may have or want to acquire.

CLAWS is finely-balanced, with every soldier equal to every other in terms of power and ability to sway a battle. Winning battles is much less about how you set up your army and more about what you do in-game to maximize your chances of success, encouraging Players to build the army they actually want as opposed to being restricted based on what will let them win.

CLAWS requires no tracking of wounds, score, or altered areas of effect, producing a visually "clean" battlefield and great ease of play. Soldiers perform Actions separately or apply specific "in-the-moment" buffs, which means that Players never have to worry about forgetting a crucial rule at the wrong time.

CLAWS supports battles with as few as a single model soldier per Player to as many as desired, with its integral rules supporting games with as many Players as desired from the get-go, on battlefields of any size or shape. This allows Players complete freedom in game size and encourages those new to wargaming to get their feet wet even with a single model.

Contains 100 pages of rules, templates, guides, and Options; 13 pages cover all rules necessary for play, with the remainder being additional content that can be used to create basic soldiers or expand and vary battles.
