This study examines the possibility of implementing a bipolar concept for the formation of Ukraine's trade and economic regime at the level of free trade zones, both with the EU and with the countries of the EurAsEC\/EAEU\/CIS. The author concludes that the view that the bipolar concept of integration is antagonistic to Ukraine is erroneous. The study conducts a comparative analysis of Ukraine's institutional integration, both in the West and in the East. An attempt is made to identify and analyze so-called institutional gaps in contemporary integration interactions among EurAsEC\/EAEU countries.
