The original contributions of the proposed design include a\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003elow-complexity hardware architecture of the RNS-based filter banks, optimised transposition\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eunits, and exploitation of the multi-voltage scheme to reduce the power consumption.\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eModular adders and multipliers of the RNS-based filter banks are simplified\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eto save on hardware complexity, while modular arithmetic and 6-bit dyadic-fraction\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003efilter coefficients are applied to improve the system performance. The proposed design\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003eis synthesised with the Synopsys 90 nm Generic Library (SAED90nmEDK) using\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ethe Synopsys synthesis and implementation tools. The synthesis results show that\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ethe proposed RNS-based processor is 23% faster than the initial processor. Another\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003enoteworthy result is that the total area of the RNS-based processor is less than the\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003etotal area in the initial binary processor. It confirms that using the proposed architecture\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003efor RNS-based filter banks has saved on the hardware complexity and the system\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003earea requirement. The proposed RNS-based processor is implemented using the multivoltage\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003e(MV) low power design (LPD) scheme to improve the power performance of\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003ethe proposed processor. The power synthesis results show that using the multi-voltage\u003c\/p\u003e\u003cp\u003escheme reduces the total power of the proposed RNS-based design by up to 50%.
