He studied in France as well, and has a Ph D in literature and languages from Université de Provence in Aix-en-Provence. He has been a college professor of Romance Languages, French, Spanish and Italian, in North America, for 23 years. What the Trumpet Player Revealed is his first novel. It is his translation of Les confessions du trompettiste, which is being published in French. A second novel will be published in the next few years. French Class textbook and memoir is a French textbook. Renard has also written and presented numerous papers, and given conferences, at universities in North America on French and Spanish, as well as on Francophone and Québécois ccivilisation and culture, and on culture and politics in Canada and Quebec. He is married with a teenage daughter. He has a dog and 2 cats.
