Michele Hoffnung is Professor of Psychology at QuinnipiacUniversity. She received her BA at Douglass College and her PhD atthe University of Michigan. Her teaching has been in the areas ofresearch methods, psychology of women, and adultdevelopment. She is editor of Roles Women Play: ReadingsTowards Womens Liberation (1971) and author of Whats aMother to Do? Conversations About Work and Family(1992) and numerous articles, essays and bookreviews.

Robert J. Hoffnung is Emeritus Professor of Psychology atth University of New Haven and Associate Clinical Professor ofPsychiatry at the Yale University School of Medicine. Robert hastaught about childhood, adolescence, and lifespan development; hehas also done clinical work with children, adolescents, adults, andfamilies. He received his BA at Lafayette College, his MA at theUniversity of Iowa, and his PhD at the University of Cincinnati. Hehas published articles on educational, developmental, and mentalhealth interventions with children, adolescents and families.

Lynn Ward received her PhD from the University ofAdelaide in 1995. She is a senior lecturer in theUniversity's School of Psychology. Since 1990 she has taughtundergraduate courses in Developmental Psychology, AdultDevelopment and Ageing, Cognitive Psychology, and Statistics, and apostgraduate course on Clinical Geropsychology. She was awarded aHigh Commendation in The Stephen Cole the Elder Prize forExcellence in Teaching from the University of Adelaide in 2003 andwas a national fi nalist in the UniJobs Lecturer of the Year, 2009.Her teaching is informed by her research on resilience andsuccessful ageing, emotional functioning in older adults, andfactors that influence age-related changes in cognitiveabilities.

Cat Pausé received her PhD from Texas TechUniversity in 2007. She is a Human Development Lecturer and FatStudies researcher at Massey University. Her research focuses onissues of fat identity construction, maintenance and revision.Cat's current projects include an autoethnographicexploration of coming out as fat and collecting data on fatattitudes in students enrolled in initial teacher education. Duringher doctoral work, she studied under Dr Gwendolyn T Sorell on theAdult Identity Development Project (AIDP). The AIDP collects dataon adult identity development, maintenance and revision --ranging from parental identity, work identity, sibling identity, friendship identity, spiritual identity, weight identity and bodyidentity. Cat also maintains a presence in the Fatosphere with herblog, Tumblr, and radio show/podcast, 'Friend ofMarilyn'.

Karen Swabey is a senior lecturer in Health and PhysicalEducation Pedagogy in the Faculty of Education at the University ofTasmania. Before entering the university sector in 1994, she had anextensive career in primary, secondary and senior secondaryteaching and school leadership in Tasmania, in both state andindependent schools. Karen is currently the Deputy Head of Schoolof the Faculty of Education and, as such, is responsible forstaffing issues. Her undergraduate teaching currently focuses onhealth and physical education pedagogy, specifically social andemotional wellbeing, and human development. At the postgraduatelevel, Karen coordinates two health and physical education units, and also supervises a number of research higher degree students.Her areas of research interest are in social and emotionalwellbeing and student preparedness for teacher education.Karen's publication output includes book chapters, academicjournal articles and peer-reviewed conference papers. Alison Hine teaches and supervises undergraduate andpostgraduate students in the areas of Developmental and EducationalPsychology at the University of Western Sydney. She has received atop ten standing in the UniJobs Lecturer of the Year for theUniversity of Western Sydney in two consecutive years, and was anational finalist in the awards in 2009. She holds a Masters degreein Educational and Developmental Psychology, and has workedextensively with leading international researchers in these fields. Alison has researched, published and presented atinternational and national conferences in the areas of mentoring, adult metacognition, gifted and talented, thinking skills, intelligence, and self-refl ection strategies. Recently, Alison hasresearched and published in the areas of e-learning andmetacognition, self-effi cacy and procrastination. She maintains anactive consultancy practice within these areas of interest, workingwith educators, administrators and business professionals. Alisonalso conducts workshops with parents and professionals in the areasof child and adolescent development, learning styles, motivation, intelligence, gifted and talented, and the development of thinkingskills. Alison has 30 years of teaching experience and has taughtextensively from preschool to tertiary education, specialisingprimarily in the areas of special education and gifted andtalented.

Kelvin L. Seifert is Professor of EducationalAdministration, Foundations and Psychology at the University ofManitoba. He received his BA at Swarthmore College and his PhD atthe University of Michigan. Kelvin's teaching has focusedboth on teacher education and on the education of adult learnersoutside of school settings. His current research focuses on howteachers and other adults form communities online in order todevelop their own learning. He is author of EducationalPsychology (1991), Constructing a Psychology of Teaching andLearning (1999), and Contemporary Educational Psychologyand chapters about gender issues in teacher education and on thedynamics of online adult learning communities. (2009), as well asarticles and chapters about gender issues in teachereducation and on the dynamics of online adult learningcommunities.

Rosanne Burton Smith obtained her PhD in Psychology fromthe University of Tasmania and also holds a Masters degree inEducational Psychology from the University of Exeter in the UnitedKingdom. Her professional work as a psychologist includes severalyears in Papua New Guinea, mainly in educational and occupationalpsychology, and later in the United Kingdom and New Zealand, working in the area of developmental disabilities. Her teaching andresearch interests include psychological assessment, developmentalissues such as childhood anxiety and the effects of divorce onchildren and adolescents, children's peer relationships, bodyimage, dietary behaviour and gender differences. Rosanne has taughtand supervised research at both undergraduate and postgraduatelevels in the School of Psychology, University of Tasmania, since1989. Rosanne retired from teaching in 2007, but continues as anHonorary Research Associate at the School of Psychology, Universityof Tasmania.
