Every day, approximately 1,500 women die from complications related to pregnancy or childbirth. The risk of maternal mortality there is 1 in 38 compared to 1 in 3,700 in developed countries. In Senegal, 392 maternal deaths per 100,000 live births were recorded, despite a decrease to 315. At the Sokone health center, prenatal consultation (PNC) is the most used service, but in an inadequate manner: out of 158 insured women who performed at least one PNC, only 35 completed four correct PNCs (22%). This qualitative study aims to identify the determinants of non-completion of PNCs. Semi-structured interviews and focus groups were conducted with insured women and key stakeholders. The results show individual, social, and systemic factors, as well as perverse effects of the TFS and UDAM policies and the influence of the Diop private clinic. Training, awareness-raising, and organizational reinforcement actions are recommended.\u003c\/p\u003e","brand":"Our Knowledge Publishing","offers":[{"title":"Paperback","offer_id":47775216500887,"sku":"9786209863141","price":7822.0,"currency_code":"INR","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0666\/3471\/1191\/files\/9786209863141.webp?v=1777989026","url":"https:\/\/atlanticbooks.com\/products\/socio-anthropological-approach-to-maternal-and-reproductive-health-9786209863141","provider":"Atlantic Books","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
