This book intends to help clinicians and diagnosticians make accurate differential diagnosis and retrieve crucial medical data at a glance. It describes all tumours and tumour-like conditions in all organs of the human body in a fully comprehensive textual format that is extremely valuable for clinicians and diagnosticians wishing to organize and expand their knowledge on surgical pathology. In this book, all tumours and tumour-like conditions are categorized and codified according to organ, system of the human body and severity. For each diagnostic entity, the book presents, in a summarized form, data referring (where applicable) to Epidemiology, Etiology, Location, Main Clinical Features, Imaging findings, Gross and Microscopic Findings, Immunohistochemistry, Prognosis and Predictive factors. All tumours and tumour-like conditions are codified according to organ and to severity, for further data mining in the near future. The book contains medical data presented in a bulleted textual format and is specially designed to bridge the gap between surgical pathology and all medical specialties, by providing valuable details to both diagnosticians and clinicians wishing to enhance their knowledge on the terminology used in surgical pathology reports. The book does not contain any algorithms for making quick and accurate differential diagnosis. What the book contains is the matrix of all possible diagnoses one clinician or diagnostician can think of. By presenting simplified, but crucial medical data, the book is also wishing to provide clinicians valuable information and help them elaborate accurate differential diagnostic algorithms, according to their own needs and possibilities. Finally, the book is expected to be used as a valuable handbook for additional reading in the field of surgical pathology or as a quick reference guide by the microscope.

Stavros Archondakis is a certified pathologist and director of the Cytopathology Department of 401 Athens Military Hospital. He graduated from Thessaloniki Medical School and National Military Medical School in 1996. Since 2007, he was appointed assessor of the Hellenic Accreditation System (ESYD) for the accreditation of medical laboratories according to ISO 15189:2012. He speaks English and French. He is a member of Hellenic Society of Clinical Cytopathology, Society of Medical Studies, and Society for Quality Management in the Health Sector. He is the author of 29 medical books, some of them awarded by the Greek Anticancer Society. He has participated with posters and oral presentations in more than 200 congresses and seminars, he has authored more than 25 articles in greek and foreign medical journals. He possesses more than 800 hours of teaching experience in medical and paramedical schools.
