Contemporary Indian Writings in English is a unique collection of some scholarly essays on the works of some eminent Indian Writers in English. Prof. Jaydipsinh Dodiya, M.A. (English), B.Ed. (English), Ph.D. (English), teaches at the Department of English, Saurashtra University, Rajkot, Gujrat. He has also taught at Smt. M.T. Dhamsania College of Commerce and B.B.A., Rajkot. He was the head of the Department of English at Shardagram Arts and Commerce College, Mangrol, during 1995–98. He has also worked as a visiting lecturer in Syntax and Sociolinguistics at the Institute of English Language Teaching in Jamnagar for a couple of years. In 1997, the Government of Gujarat appointed Prof. Dodiya as a Member of Senate in Saurashtra University. He has presented research papers at several national and international conferences. His first book A Practical English Grammar and Composition was published in 1997. He has delivered three lectures on “Modern Indian Popular Fiction”, “Diaspora in Literature”, and “The Indian English Short Story” at U.G.C. Sponsored Refresher Course in English organised by Kuvempu University, Shimoga, Karnataka.
