The book attempts to present the principles of elementary dynamics and explain the meaning of the physical quantities involved, partly by definition and description, but mainly by worked out examples. A number of graphical examples have been worked out in the text, and a number are included in the exercises to be worked by the student. The examples provided in each chapter are arranged more or less to follow the text, and the miscellaneous examples, in each chapter, are intended for revision, and for this reason they are not arranged either in order of difficulty or in the order of the topics in the chapter dealing with the principles involved. Besides illustrative examples and miscellaneous illustrative examples, a number of exercises have been provided in each chapter for the practices by the students. The book has seven chapters comprehensively dealing with the fundamentals of dynamics and includes a wide discussion on broad topics such as kinematics and kinetics, rectilinear motion, uniplanar motion, work-power-energy and impulse, constrained motion, central forces, and resisting medium.

Hari Kishan, M.Sc. in Mathematics (Gold Medalist), Ph.D. in Mathematics (Fluid Dynamics), retired as a Senior Reader in Mathematics from Kishori Raman Postgraduate College, Mathura, affiliated to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra. He has 36 years' experience of teaching degree classes. His topic of research in Ph.D. was "Flow of Homogeneous or Stratified Viscous Fluids". He has published numerous research papers in several mathematical journals of repute. Besides, he is a well-known author of a large number of books on Mathematics including Trigonometry, Integral Calculus, Coordinate Geometry of Two Dimensions, Matrices, Modern Algebra, Theory of Equations, Dynamics, Statics, Hydro Statics, Real Analysis, Numerical Analysis, and Sure Success in Convergence.
