About the Author

MARIA MINNITI is Professor of Economics and Professor of Entrepreneurship at Babson College. She is the Research Director of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM) project and an associate editor of the Small Business Economics Journal,
ANDREW ZACHARAKIS is the John H. Muller Jr. Chair in Entrepreneurship at Babson College, where he previously served as Chair of the Entrepreneurship Department and Acting Director of the Arthur M. Blank Center for Entrepreneurship. He actively consults with entrepreneurs and small business startups.
TIMOTHY G. HABBERSHON is Founding Director of the Institute for Family Enterprising at Babson College, where he holds the President's Term Chair in Family Enterprising. He is a founding partner in the TELOS Group, providing transition and strategy consultations to large family firms worldwide.
STEPHEN SPINELLI JR. is Vice Provost for Entrepreneurship and Global Management at Babson College, where he holds the Paul T. Babson Chair in Entrepreneurship and the Alan Lewis Chair in Global Management. He co-founded Jiffy Lube International and founded and served as Chairman and CEO of American Oil Corporation.
MARK P.RICE is the Murata Dean of the F. W. Olin Graduate School of Business at Babson College and the Jeffry A. Timmons Professor of Entrepreneurial Studies. Rice has been Director and Chairman of the National Business Incubation Association and in 2002 received the Edwin M. and Gloria W. Appel Entrepreneurship in Education Prize.
