About the Book

Financial infrastructure constitutes the wheels, if not the engine of financial development. It supports many aspects of a country's socio-economic development and contributes to high economic growth. The literature reflects that there is a direct correlation between financial infrastructure and financial development. The lack of financial infrastructure can certainly impede financial development and hence, affects economic growth of the economy. Hence, there is a need to focus on the financial infrastructure and its integration with financial development. The book discusses various issues of financial infrastructure and its impact on financial development and economic growth. Thirty three scholarly articles are included in the book, particularly in the areas of financial infrastructure and economic growth.

About the Author
Rudra P Pradhan is an Assistant Professor (Finance Group), at the Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. He received his Ph.D. from the Ill, Kharagpur in the area of Infrastructure Finance and worked with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Pilani), prior to joining VGSOM. He was also awarded SAP fellowship to attend the Nobel Laureate Meeting at Germany and was awarded the Best Professor in Infrastructure Finance by the World Education Congress. Dr. Pradhan is a reviewer and editorial board member of various journals like Energy Systems, Cities, and South Asian Journal of Management. He has to his credit more than 100 research papers published in many national and international journals. He usually conducts management development programmes on 'Multivariate Data Analysis', 'Statistical Modelling for Data Analysis', 'Statistical Modelling of Systems' and 'Modelling and Forecasting on Financial Markets' for faculties, industry professionals and corporates. He also conducts seminars and conferences on 'Forecasting Financial Markets', 'Computational Finance, Financial Econometrics' and 'Infrastructure Finance' at the international level. Dr. Pradhan is an active member of various professional bodies like Multiple Criteria Decision Making, International Project Finance Association and International Association of Financial Engineers.
