The book on “Irrigation Management: A System Approach” Volume I was published in 1990 by M/s Atlantic Publishers and Distributors which got very good response all over the country. The concept of irrigation management includes many entities. The attempt has been made to throw light on the left over matters in this volume. It covers various chapters pertaining to farm irrigation management, methods of irrigation and drainage, scheduling of irrigation based on consumptive use, moisture regimes for optimum plant growth, relationship between irrigation and crop production as well as aspect of irrigation engineering, soils and agronomy. It deals with the interdisciplinary approach on the irrigation management as whole system for interaction between the concerned.

Dr. B.L. Darra former Joint Director Agricultural W.D. and S.C. Department has wide experience of teaching and training in IMTIS and conducted various diagnostic exercises in the subject of water management in Rajasthan and outside. He worked as senior adviser in RAJAD PROJECT (CIDA) and is a Irrigation Management Consultant.

Dr. C.S. Raghuvanshi former Professor of W.R.D.T.C. Roorkee (Uttar Pradesh) has contributed significantly in teaching and training in W.R.D.T.C. and in other institutes of WALMIES/I.M.T.I. He has contributed much in the aspects of agricultural economics and legal aspects of irrigation.

He is a W.R.D.T.C. consultant in India and abroad.
