Library and Information Science for UGC-NET/SLET and other Competitive Examinations: Theory and Objective Type Questions with Answers (Hardbound - 2020)

The book, Library and Information Science covers paper II and III of the UGC-NET/JRF conducted by UGC for lectureship and research fellowship in Indian universities in this subject. It contains eleven chapters covering the prescribed syllabus for UGC-NET/JRF in Library & Information Science. Each chapter has two sections. In the first section, an introduction with important points to be remembered regarding the concepts of the topics covered in the chapter has been given. The second section of the chapter contains multiple choice questions with answers. The book contains more than 2500 multiple choice questions, including questions based on matching, assertion and reason, etc. An Appendix has also been provided which covers Abbreviations, Abstracts, Index and Thesaurus, Catalogue Codes and their inventors, Classification Schemes and their inventors, Citation Manual, famous persons related to Library & Information Science, ICT Tools, Computer Language Developers, Indexing Systems, List of Library Associations, Public Library Act, etc.

Dr. Md. Gulnawaz Azam is currently working as Assistant Librarian at Central University of South Bihar (CUSB), Gaya, Bihar. He did his B.Sc. (Physics Honours) from T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, and BLIS and MLIS from the same university. He has qualified UGC-NET (for Lectureship) and has successfully completed ‘A’ Level advanced diploma course in Computer Science & Application from DOEACC Society (now NIELIT), New Delhi. He did his Ph.D. in Library & Information Science from T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur.

Dr. Arun Kumar Sinha, ex Librarian, in-charge Librarian, University Library, who was also Director/Course Coordinator of P.G. Department of Library & Information Science of T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur, is a senior library professional. He is a renowned faculty in Library & Information Science, having about 40 years of professional experience and about 20 years of teaching experience at BLIS & MLIS classes.

Dr. Sinha has a doctoral degree in Library & Information Science from the T.M. Bhagalpur University, Bhagalpur.
