This book gives comprehensive coverage of mechanical science for HNC/HND students taking mechanical engineering courses (including all topics likely to be covered in both years of such courses) and for first year undergraduate students in mechanical engineering.

Some 500 problems are included, all with answers, and there are almost 200 fully worked examples throughout the book.
For the Third Edition, the coverage of power transmission systems has been extended to give a fuller introduction to the principles. A new mathematical appendix covering the basic principles of calculus and the solution of differential equations has also been added.

About the AuthorBill Bolton was formerly Head of Research, Development and Monitoring at the Business and Technician Education Council, and a consultant to UNESCO. He is author of many engineering textbooks, particularly for use on technician courses.
