About the Author

David Machin works in the Department of Media and Communications at Leicester University. He is author of The Anglo American Media Connection (1999), Ethnographic Research for Media Studies (2002) and a range of journal publications focussed on issues of journalism and media production. Sarah Niblock trained at Birkenhead News and Liverpool Echo. She also wrote for Cosmopolitan and Company for several years. Sarah is the author of Inside Journalism (1996) and numerous other academic works on journalism and visual culture. She is Reader in Journalism at Brunei University. "
