About the Book

Infrastructure, which includes roads and transportation, water supply and sanitation, energy and telecommunication, ports and shipping, has major implications for a variety of development outcomes, at the household level, firm level and also at the global level. Infrastructure creation is highly capital intensive and needs long gestation periods. The provision and maintenance of adequate infrastructure facilities at reasonable costs is certainly essential for the rapid achievement of sustainable economic growth. The book discusses various aspects of project financing for infrastructure creation and its impact on economic growth. Thirty eight scholarly articles are included in the book, particularly in the area of project financing.

About the Author
Rudra P Pradhan is an Assistant Professor (Finance Group), at the Vinod Gupta School of Management (VGSOM), Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Kharagpur. He received his Ph.D. from the Ill, Kharagpur in the area of Infrastructure Finance and worked with the Birla Institute of Technology and Science (Pilani), prior to joining VGSOM. He was also awarded SAP fellowship to attend the Nobel Laureate Meeting at Germany and was awarded the Best Professor in Infrastructure Finance by the World Education Congress. Dr. Pradhan is a reviewer and editorial board member of various journals like Energy Systems, Cities, and South Asian Journal of Management. He has to his credit more than 100 research papers published in many national and international journals. He usually conducts management development programmes on 'Multivariate Data Analysis', 'Statistical Modelling for Data Analysis', 'Statistical Modelling of Systems' and 'Modelling and Forecasting on Financial Markets' for faculties, industry professionals and corporates. He also conducts seminars and conferences on 'Forecasting Financial Markets', 'Computational Finance, Financial Econometrics' and 'Infrastructure Finance' at the international level. Dr. Pradhan is an active member of various professional bodies like Multiple Criteria Decision Making, International Project Finance Association and International Association of Financial Engineers.
