About the AuthorMohit K. Ray, M.A. (English), Ph.D. (English), D.Litt. (Honoris Causa), a full Professor since 1982, is one of the senior most Professors of English in the country. He has about 42 years of experience of teaching English in undergraduate and postgraduate classes. He knows English, Bengali, Hindi, French, German, Latin, Sanskrit, and Arabic. He has published three books and a large number of research papers in scholarly journals in India and abroad, which reflect his wide range of scholarship including Criticism, Comparative Literature, New Literature, Canonical Literature, Comparative Poetics, and Translation Studies. Professor Ray is associated with many international bodies, and has attended and chaired sessions as an invited participant in many international conferences, seminars, and colloquia held in different parts of the globe—England, France, Portugal, Austria, Finland, Estonia, Netherlands, America, Canada, Japan, Hong Kong, etc. He has also acted as a Resource Person for the Refresher Course in English at Saurashtra University, Banaras Hindu University, North Eastern Hill University, Utkal University, Calcutta University, Rabindra Bharati University, Burdwan University, etc.
