Now published in a revised edition, Working with Elderly People is a packaged series of 12 workshops designed for use by speech and language therapists for teaching other staff, students and carers about communication and the problems of communication that may occur, especially in an elderly population. The workshops are designed for use with participants with limited knowledge of communication problems and eating and swallowing difficulties, or of the medical background to such problems. They have also been used with other client groups such as those with learning difficulties and physically handicapped young adults. The teaching resources provided can be adapted for use with a range of groups, in community and acute hospital settings.
