As we look towards the twenty-first century, education assumes greater importance and has rightly been assigned a high priority by the Government as is clearly reflected in the National Education Policy, 1986. It is imperative, therefore, that the teachers-in-making should be properly equipped with knowledge and skills they are supposed to acquire in order to become successful in this grand task of nation building.
The present book is an effort in that direction. It makes the concepts of teaching and learning clear and deals with many topics which are essential for a progressive teacher. It can serve as a text-book for the students of B.Ed. and M.Ed. of the Indian Universities. It will also be a useful handbook for those who have already accepted the challenging task of teaching.
