About The Book

Dynamics of individuals, communities, governance and global community are important for creating dynamism and achieving development in various domains in India. Perspectives of India’s eight salient social actors’ visions, ideologues, actions through their psychology and psychological deliberations and their interplay contribute to success by creating challenges and strategies. A few day-to-day salient social, cultural, political and economic issues and practices have been taken up. The book focuses on assessing India’s perspective on how people and governance together are shaping their lives or are defaulting in doing so; and how global efforts are accelerating or upgrading India’s efforts by improving the quality, standard, or performance by incorporating new advancements. The salient social actors’ voices in Indian society were skeptical about India’s economic growth due to ever-increasing inflation and corruption 2010 onwards as reflected in all walks of life. Breaking the inertia of bureaucracy and encouraging people’s participation in governance 2014 onwards the new government headed by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi has been creating political and economic optimism among all. The book captures the development discontent of the pre-2014 period and the hope created by the personality and vision of Narendra Modi and his government through new policies and programs.

About The Author

Uma Narula is Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst USA. She also holds M.A. (Psychology) degree with specialization on Clinical Psychology. Dr. Narula is Director/Communication Consultant (Research and Training) with Communication Networks (CNET), and U+ communications, New Delhi, India. She regularly conducts social and development research on local, national and international issues, planning for research projects social sciences, and expertise in Development Communication. She is a consultant in Project Planning and Research, Communication Training, Teaching and Publishing, which are her expertise areas. She operates between Boston and New Delhi. Dr. Narula’s, professional activities focus on four areas, viz. research training, teaching, professional writing/editing, and therapeutic counselling. She has published 24 books and a number of research papers.
