The two volumes cover, In addition to the present territories of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, territories of Delhi and Punjab areas of Pakistan. The Vol, I begins by giving general information about the territories. The aspects dealt with in this section are : physical aspects, history, archaeology. population, agriculture, rents, wages and prices, forests, mines and minerals, arts and manufactures, commerce and trade, communication, famines, and different aspects of administration.
The section closes with a useful bibliography and 16 statistical tables. The second section describes the mountains i.e. the Himalayas, Siwalik Hills and Salt Range, rivers, canals and historic areas. The third section gives detailed information about two of the five divisions of the Province I.e. Delhi Division comprising the districts of Hisser, Rohtak, Gurgaon, Delhi, Kernel, Ambala and Simla; and Jullundur Division comprising the districts of Kangra, Hoshiarpur, Jullundur, Ludhiana and Ferozepur. Volume II is concerned with the remaining three Divisions of the Punjab I.e. Lahore Division comprising the districts of Montogomery, Lahore, Amritsar, Gurdaspur, Sialkot and Gujranwala; Rawalpindi Division comprising the districts of Gujrat, Shahpur, Jhelum, Rawalpindi and Attack; and Multan Division consisting of Mianwall, Jhang, Lyallpur. Multan, Muzaffargarh and Dera Ghazikhan districts.
