Volume three of the book deals with the establishment of Napoleon’s rule and attempts of European powers to establish peace with the co-operation of great powers. Meternich, the Chancellor of Austria, who became dominating leader of great powers, believed that peace is indivisible, so peace must be maintained by the co-operation of great powers. This ideal sowed seeds of the League of Nations and later on of the United Nations Organisation. Revolutions of 1830 and of 1848 established governments based on democratic ideals. Tremendous progress was made in production and great progress was made in Art, Literature and Science. European powers established their empires all over the world, which brought rivalry among Britain, France, Russia, Germany etc.
