The book deals with different dimensions of pedagogy and their relevance to the education system in general and school system in particular. In it, pedagogy as a significant aspect of education system, relationship of pedagogy with different other aspects of education system, place of pedagogy in education system, and contribution of pedagogy to education system are highlighted. It has special significance for the improvement of teaching-learning process of school through pedagogical change and innovation. In the first section, conceptual or theoretical aspects of pedagogy with special reference to nature, scope and importance of pedagogy, different pedagogic styles in educational setup, critical pedagogy, constructive pedagogy, culture specific pedagogy, multicultural pedagogy and pedagogy for value education are discussed. In the second section, pedagogical processes or techniques used for different categories of learners like creative learners, gifted and talented learners, learners with learning disability, sensory and physically challenged learners, intellectually disabled learners, emotionally challenged learners, socially oppressed learners and disadvantaged learners and maladjusted learners are illustrated. In the third section, the uses of different pedagogical processes or techniques with reference to four basic school subjects, i.e., language, social science, mathematics, and science are described. The book would cater the divergent needs of teacher educators, teachers, academicians, scholars, counselors, and many other stakeholders of education in pedagogical endeavor.

T.K. Basantia, M.A. (Triple: Education, History, and Distance Education), B.Ed., P.G. Diploma in Distance Educa-tion, M.Phil., Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at School of Education in Central University of South Bihar, Gaya, Bihar. Earlier he has worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Education (UG), Mizoram University (Central Uni-versity), Aizwal, Mizoram, and as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, Assam University (Cen-tral University), Silchar, Assam. He has eighteen years of teaching and research experience in Research Methodolo-gy and Statistics, Cognitive Science, Cognitive Psychology, Psychology of Teaching-Learning, Curriculum, Peda-gogy of Teaching-Learning, Educational Technology, Distance Education, and many other advanced content areas of education. His published books include Multi-dimensional Activity Based Integrated Approach (For Cognitive and Creative Development) and Teacher Education. He has also published a number of articles and research pa-pers in various national and international journals of repute.
