ELTAI: An Epic Journey of 50 Years is a commemorative volume being brought out on the special occasion of ELTAI’s 50th anniversary. To capture the essence of its growth, the volume has a variety of materials. Contributions in making this volume appeal to the larger audience have come from various sources. It includes lucid write-ups on the life of the Founder, Sri Natarjan; a history drafted by the patron, Dr. Rajagopalan; and the memoirs as presented by many more both Indian and International contributors. ELTAI is an academic body. The volume has a lot of material worth reading about the academic contribution that ELTAI has made in the form of reports of research projects and action research works undertaken by its members. Besides these, the volume includes interviews from eminent scholars, research articles, and an introduction to the publications undertaken by the Association to reach out to all its members. Incapsulating the pleasant moments on various occasions, the photo gallery provides a sample of the range and variety of activities the Association is engaged with. In a word, it leaves one with a sense of satisfaction to have gone through this volume.

Prof. S. Mohanraj has been a teacher educator attached to the English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad. He is a well-known material producer besides being a teacher educator. Dr. P.N. Ramani is an ELT specialist, curriculum developer, and teacher trainer. With over 40 years of experience, he has authored several ELT coursebooks and research papers, and has been the content head for a set of educational CD-ROMs for learning English at elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels of English proficiency. Dr. K. Elango has a teaching experience of over three decades. He is currently the Secretary of ELTAI. His passion lies in moving away from the canonized western ELT to evolving an Indianied and contemporaneous theories and practices applicable to different levels such as primary, secondary and tertiary as learners’ cognitive competence and exposure to the language vary. He has authored textbooks for leading publishers. Dr. Shravan Kumar is an Assistant Professor in Amity University. He is also a writer, editor, and communications trainer. He has authored several books and research papers, and is the editor-in-chief, publisher and member of editorial board of various journals. He is National Vice-President of ELTAI. Dr. Sanjay Arora is an ELT practitioner, teacher trainer, motivator, a passionate teacher and a keen learner, teaching in Central University of Rajasthan, Ajmer. He specializes in teaching communicative English. Dr. M.S. Xavier Pradheep Singh teaches English Language and Literature at St. Joseph’s College, Tiruchirappalli. He also trains teachers in using technology for teaching. His interest in research lies in CALL, MALL, and Gamification.
