The guide contains information that is useful and entertaining for comic book fans, art investors, people buying and selling comic art, experienced and inexperienced comic art connoisseurs, and anyone who just likes to look at pictures from comic books. Contents include featured artist market reports, graphs describing trends of sales data and other pertinent information, sales data, lots of pictures for each artist, and the proprietary CAT grade for each art listing. The CAT grade is one of the things that makes the Comic Art Trends Price Guide unique. The CAT grade is a tool used by the author to categorize art based on criteria that is intuitive to the average fan. The CAT grade considers the featured character(s) on the page, how much of the page is devoted to the character(s), what type of page it is, and what is significant about the page. Using the CAT scale, it is possible to group unique pages of original art to assist buyers and sellers in determining if similar pages have previously sold. Those similar pages can help when attempting to understand the market for a unique page of comic book art.
