About The Author

I, Kevin Brady, your author, have had the writing bug since I was a little boy growing up in the 70's. I used to write little stories and then show them to my parents and their friends for their feedback. They would always give me encouragement and sometimes would laugh at just the right spots that were intended to be funny. But after putting it down for years and years until I had graduated from Statesboro High School and Georgia Southern University, I ventured back into writing in 1998 with my first novella, "A Helluva Home, " a fiction story about a haunted house that I wrote and sent in to get published to Dorrance Publishing in Pennsylvania. Yet after I was quoted a price of $7,700.00, I asked for the story back and virtually just put it on the "back burner" while I started on several other book ideas letting the first one sit on a shelf collecting dust. I am the eldest of five kids with one half brother and one half sister. I was born in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, and moved to Georgia in 1980 when I was twelve. We lived in Brooklet, Georgia, for a year since that was the first place we found to rent once we moved here, but moved to Statesboro where my parents bought a spot of land and found an old fixer upper house and then had the house moved onto the land. Growing up I heard a lot of ghost stories from my dad and my aunts and uncles and grew to love hearing them even though they came back to my mind at bedtime when the lights were out. In 1998 a Halloween contest in the local Statesboro Herald newspaper is what gave me the bug to write once again since I wrote a little scary story for the contest and let my mom read it, and it made her laugh so hard that she cried laughing so hard. I kept adding this and adding that, and my first novella, "A Helluva Home" was the result. I am married and have one stepson and a daughter-in-law and two grandkids. I am a Christian man and attend Hodges Grove Baptist Church quite frequently. I love to write; fish; play golf; go to church; have fun with family and friends; eat; watch good movies, especially scary ones; look at classic cars; and hear ghost stories and watch ghost documentaries.
