Absolut Sandra es una serie de obras en pinturas y acciones con carteles en donde la artista refleja, a partir de una introspecci�n, una actitud autocr�tica mediante ataques al egocentrismo y el hedonismo. Estas ideas est�n representadas como animales o bestias con rasgos humanoides y figuras de personas deformadas y desahuciadas. Lo curioso de estas obras es que no son autobiogr�ficas; intentan en primera persona mostrar el lado oscuro de la especie humana, la crueldad intr�nseca, emp�rica, con todas sus variantes.

About The Author

Ceballos, Sandra: - Sandra Ceballos reside entre España y Cuba. Lleva 39 años de trabajo como creadora y curadora o comisaria. He realizado pintura, escultura, grabado, fotografía, instalaciones y performances. Cursó estudios en la Academia Nacional de Artes Visuales, San Alejandro. La Habana; y obtuvo beca en Medios Audiovisuales en Basilea, Suiza. Fue dibujante e impresora en el taller de Serigrafia Artística René Portocarrero en La Habana, desde 1986 hasta el 1992. Fue cofundadora y cocuradora en su estudio en 1994 del espacio de arte independiente de resistencia con seguimiento, Espacio Aglutinador, en La Habana. En el mismo trabajó como artista y cocuradora durante 5 años y como única curadora y directora durante 25 años más a partir del 2000. En 1995 ganó el primer premio en el concurso nacional de Pintura Contemporánea Juan Francisco Elso Padilla realizado por el Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes de Cuba y financiado por la VITOL S.A. En 1996 obtuvo la Beca Art in General, NY, y otra en Longwood Project Brox Studios, NY. En 1998 obtuvo una residencia otorgada por Proelvetia, durante el proyecto colectivo "La dirección de la mirada", Suiza, 1998. En 2022 fue Beca de la Fundación CINTAS, en Miami, y en 2024 fue Beca RESILIENCE otorgada por Atriskartis and PEN internacional, NY.
