Thomas E. Fischer wurde am 23. Juli 1965 in Ratzeburg (Schleswig-Holstein) geboren. Er ist verheiratet und hat drei Kinder. Fischer studierte Geschichte und Germanistik in Kiel und Freiburg i.Br. Anschließend arbeitete er u.a. als Bundesprogrammlehrer in der Slowakei, als Hochschulassistent am Historischen Seminar der Universität Kiel, als Multimedia-Dozent in Bamberg und als Datenbankprogrammierer in Hamburg. Seit 2000 ist er Lehrer an verschiedenen Hamburger Berufsschulen. Von 2005 bis 2013 leitete er die Abteilung Screen-Design an der Beruflichen Medienschule in Hamburg-Wandsbek. Seit 2013 arbeitet er als Stellvertretender Schulleiter an einer Berufsschule in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg.
