About the Author
B.R. Nanda (1917–2010) had written a number of well-known books on Gandhi and Nehru, as well as a biography of Gokhale. He served as the Director of the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, New Delhi, India.

B. R. Nanda was formerly Director of the Nehru Museum and Library, New Delhi. He has written a number of well-known books on Gandhi and Nehru, the latest being Jawaheral Nehru: Rebel and Statesman (OUP, 1995).
