"True happiness comes not from comparison, but from accepting who we are."

The young Princess of the Sea wants to be like her friends--strong like a mountain, sweet like a river, or full of life and color like a tree. But with each change, she faces new surprises.

With the turn of seasons and shifting forms, she learns a gentle lesson: you shine brightest as yourself.

A magical, thoughtful tale about nature, change and self-acceptance, this charming chapter book is the ideal introduction to the imaginative world of Sudha Murty.

Sudha Murty, born in 1950 in Shiggaon, Karnataka, holds an MTech in Computer Science. A philanthropist, teacher, and author, she serves as the Chairperson of the Murty Trust and is also a member of the Rajya Sabha. A prolific writer in both English and Kannada, she has authored novels, technical books, travelogues, short story collections, non-fiction works, and numerous bestselling titles for children. Her books have been translated into all major Indian languages.

She is the recipient of several prestigious honors, including the R.K. Narayan Award for Literature, the Padma Shri (2006), the Attimabbe Award for excellence in Kannada literature (2011), the Lifetime Achievement Award at the Crossword Book Awards (2018), and the Padma Bhushan (2023). Sudha Murty has also been awarded over twenty honorary doctorates.
