It also documents his life and work in China from 1911 to 1948, offering a relatively complete portrayal of his experiences from childhood and youth to adulthood, as well as his academic achievements in the study of ethnic minorities in Southwest China and his involvement in the archaeological excavation of the Sanxingdui site.
