About The Book

In 2020, Hugo Marinucci R.N. worked in the newly formed Covid I.C.U. in Ft. Lauderdale Florida. With the hospital minutes from the international airport and the cruise ship terminal, the admissions were endless. He saw first-hand the suffering it inflicted with the death rate 60-70%. It not only affected the elderly, but patients of all ages.

His biggest shock came when his wife Cynthia (also an R.N. at the same hospital), was admitted to the Covid I.C.U. With no cure in sight, the odds were appalling for survival.

This story illustrates the months of suffering Cynthia endured such as cardiac arrest, strokes, kidney failure, hypoglycemia, months on the ventilator, a prolonged coma, and much more. All witnessed by her husband who was present day and night.

It describes the emotional hardships he went through such as the fear of death, or if she lived, what quality of life would she have. It also describes the other hardships he went through including the bills, and the scrutiny of working in the Covid I.C.U. in the eyes of others who were afraid to be in close contact with healthcare workers that worked with Covid patients.

This is a truly must-read story that shows the behind-the-scenes events that happened and the outcomes that occured. How the husband and the health care team worked together to save Cynthia after months of hospitalization.

This story shows with luck, patience, and hard work, a miracle did occur.

About The Author

Marinucci, Hugo: - Hugo Marinucci is married, has three children, and 4 grand-children. He is a registered nurse living in Palm Beach Florida. He has written 3 books. (Rome 2020, The Capitano and Rita, and Traumatized). But this story, which was a miracle, and affected him personally, had to be heard which motivated him to write it.
