This book is born from a simple yet deeply human truth: life does not begin with us, but with a purpose that precedes us. In time, my parents conceived me-but they did not create me. Long before anything else, I had already been imagined by God. For nine months, I grew in my mother's womb, in silence, preparing to enter the world. I was born on February 3, 2000, at the dawn of a new millennium-a quiet reminder that every life carries a unique meaning, a perfect design within creation. My existence, then, is not an accident. It is a song-an expression of love revealed in who I am and in what I give. At my core, I simply am: with my strengths and my weaknesses, embraced without reservation, without masks, and without conditions. I belong to a global family-not defined by race, but united by genetics-known as Down syndrome. It is a family shaped not by limitations, but by a profound human connection. Those who lookclosely may notice physical similarities among us, but beyond that, they will discover a spiritual richness that goes far deeper than appearances.
The reality of society can be expressed simply: some accept us out of pity; others reject us out of arrogance. And yet, what does that matter? Such rejection holds no weight against the truth that sustains me. I was created out of love, and my purpose is to give that love freely to others. In that, I find both my dignity and my reason to exist. As expressed in the poem The Broken Christ, many may not see it, but we are all, in some way, fragments of that divine offering. Whether
it is acknowledged or not, God is present-even in what seems incomplete.
