The micro approach to human welfare postulates the existence of man as a micro order. The working of micro order depends upon the use of inputs provided by the soul (or Self), nature and the macro order. We affirm that an individual's decision can tailor the use of all inputs either to impair, or improve his welfare. The nature endowed instruments of activity, contained in the body, are animated by the life energy, knowledge and consciousness provided by the Self. The Self also provides insight and foresight through intelligence, whose incidence on decision- making is precepted by the relative strength of selfish or unselfish motive. The micro approach reveals that the decision embodying the spirit of sacrifice and selfless service, without disregarding one's own, integrates the cause of life and livelihood both for oneself and other selves.
