About The Book

ZUSAMMENFASSUNG Wasserproben entlang des Jakara-Flusses und seiner Nebenfl�sse (Getsi, Jakara, Gwagwarwa und Rafin Malam) im Bundesstaat Kano wurden auf physikalisch-chemische Parameter und bestimmte organische Schadstoffe untersucht. Die physikalisch-chemischen Parameter wurden nach den Standardmethoden der American Public Health Agency (APHA) bestimmt, w�hrend die organischen Schadstoffe extrahiert und mittels Gaschromatographie-Massenspektrometrie (GC-MS) analysiert wurden. Die Ergebnisse lauten wie folgt: pH-Wert (7,8-8,4); Temperatur (31-31,1) C; Leitf�higkeit (2759-4862) S/cm; Tr�bung (21-190) mg/l; TSS (0-73,5) mg/l; TDS (1379-2431) mg/l; TOC (53,6-326,7) mg/l; DOC (32-57,3) mg/l; BSB (6,3-10,6) mg/l; Sulfat (44,3-83,3) mg/l und Nitrat (24,5-50,6) mg/l. Mit Ausnahme von Temperatur, pH-Wert und SO₄ ⁻ liegen die Werte der anderen ermittelten Parameter �ber den zul�ssigen Grenzwerten der WHO- und NESREA-Standards. An den vier Probenahmestellen wurden dreizehn verschiedene organische Verbindungen in unterschiedlichen prozentualen Anteilen nachgewiesen. Die in den Proben nachgewiesenen organischen Verbindungen und ihre prozentualen Wertebereiche sind: Dodecans�ure (1,76 - 2,31 %); Tetradecans�ure (2,06 - 2,33 %); Palmitins�ure (7,36 - 10,21 %); Methyloctadecanoat.
