A.B. Kar has degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Jadavpur University, Kolkata, and Post-graduation from Strathclyde University, Glasgow. He has worked with Caterpillar Tractor Company, U.K., and Larsen & Toubro Ltd., India. He has also worked as an Adjunct Professor with IIT-Kharagpur in Maintenance Engineering & Management for a full Semester, teaching post-graduate students. He was actively associated with Professional Bodies in the U.K., U.S.A., and India during the professional phase of his life. He retired from active services in 2000 and took the job of writing. His published books include Behind the Bamboo Curtain, Knowledge Management: New Horizons, Modern Production Management, and Modern Manufacturing and Management Practices.
