The book Managing India’s Services Exports aims to examine the growth and trends of services exports of India during the period 1995-2012. The book also examines the composition, global competitiveness and performance of India in the services exports. It attempts to examine the major determinants of India’s exports of services, to identify the major managerial and policy issues impacting India’s services exports and finally to suggest policy measures for further strengthening of exports of services.
The language as well as presentation of the book is good. The book has been organized into seven chapters. The first chapter includes the theory and concepts of services trade, including general approach, methodology and data base. The second chapter discusses the theoretical issues concerning services sector of India, including managerial issues and policy initiatives and approaches taken by Government of India. The third chapter includes the perspectives of services exports of India. The growth and trends of India’s international trade in services have been discussed in the fourth chapter. The fifth chapter evaluates the competitiveness and performance of services exports of India, whereas the sixth chapter discusses the major determinants of services exports of India. In the final chapter of the book, summary, findings and policy implications have been provided.
Since this book deals with the issues and aspects of trade in services, it will be useful to scholars and students of trade in services, managers, service producers, and policy makers.

Dr. Har Sandeep Kaur, Ph.D. (Punjabi University), M.B.A. (Thapar University), B.Tech. in Electronics and Communication (IET Bhaddal, PTU), is an Assistant Professor at Department of Management, Mata Gujri College, Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. She has published a number of articles in different journals of repute, such as Journals of Economics and Commerce; Sutlej Journal of Literature, Science and Development Studies; and Millennial Asia (SAGE). She has also reviewed a book entitled Making Growth Happen in India: A Road Map for Policy Success by V. Kumaraswamy, SAGE, New Delhi.
