The present book is a sincere attempt to present the current trends in financial analysis in their entirety. The book in eight chapters highlights the role of profitability in a business enterprise operating in a competitive environment and discusses the various techniques of profitability analysis. A unique feature of the book is that different research settings have been adopted for each chapter, appropriate statistical techniques applied for data analysis and the results thus arrived at have been discussed and interpreted. Nazir Ahmad Gilkar, M.Com., M.Phil., Ph.D., LL.B., PGDHE, is Lecturer in Commerce, Govt. Degree College, Bemina, Srinagar (J&K).
The author has a corporate exposure of a decade at least, and has been teaching in colleges for the last twenty years. During this period he attended several faculty development programmes (RCs), contributed to the academic input of conferences and seminars held outside the state and has also published papers in several journals of national repute. He has developed a number of innovative instructional strategies which are applied within and outside the classroom setting. He has been teaching courses pertaining to Accounting, Finance and Law.
