Purna Chandra Hota is a former Indian bureaucrat, former Chairman, Union Public Service Commission. A meritorious student, Hota studied Law in the South Campus Law College of the University of Delhi while serving in the I.A.S. and is considered as an expert in Constitutional Law. After demitting office, Hota worked as an independent arbitrator for PSU’s and corporates and gave legal opinions to lawyers on constitutional issues. Hota was conferred the degree of D.Lit. (Honoris Causa) by Ravenshaw University Cuttack, in recognition of his “Outstanding Contribution to Public Service”.
