About The Author

London, Alyssa K.: - Alyssa London is American Indian Tlingit, which is an Alaska Native tribe from Southeast Alaska. She also has French and Scottish ancestry as well as Czech and Norwegian heritage from her mother's side. In 2017 Alyssa became Miss Alaska USA, and placed top ten at Miss USA 2017. Now she is pursuing her love of performance and storytelling as a TV host. Her other professional experience and pursuits include business development and marketing in the technology industry, art and entrepreneurship through her brand Culture Story, and her speaking business.

Rickert-Bolter, Monica: - Monica Rickert-Bolter is a Chicago-based visual artist of Potawatomi and Black. Her artwork combines traditional techniques with digital coloring to create expressive characters and tell their diverse stories. Passionate about storytelling through art, she advocates for cultural representation in any project she undertakes. In 2019, Monica collaborated with The Floating Museum's "Founders" project, where contributed artwork and served as the model for Kitihawa, a Potawatomi woman and underrepresented founder of Chicago. Currently, Monica has multiple children's books in development and is a concept artist for Smyles Creative, LLC. She regularly does graphic and layout designs for institutions and nonprofits, such as The Field Museum and Native Americans in Philanthropy.

Singletary, Preston: - The art of Preston Singletary has become synonymous with the relationship between European glass blowing traditions and Northwest Native art. His artworks feature themes of transformation, animal spirits, and shamanism through elegant blown glass forms and mystical sand carved Tlingit designs.Preston learned the art of glass blowing by working with artists in the Seattle area. As a student and assistant, he initially focused on mastering the techniques of the European tradition. His work took him to Kosta Boda (Sweden), where he studied Scandinavian design and met his future wife. Internationally recognized, Preston's artworks are included in museum collections such as The British Museum, The Museum of Fine Arts, The Seattle Art Museum, The Corning Museum of Glass, The Microsoft Art Collection, The Mint Museum of Art and Design, The Heard Museum, and The Smithsonian Institution.
