The Inkwell Chronicles is a fast-paced middle-grade fantasy series with compelling story lines, rich worldbuilding, and unforgettable characters. The series follows Everett and his younger sister Bea, whose father has gone missing after a mysterious train crash. As they search for him, the siblings find themselves drawn into a world they didn't know existed and a classic battle of good and evil that pits creativity against the forces that would seek to blot it out for good.

In Book 1, The Ink of Elspet, Everett and Bea find a curious pen in their father's belongings, and its magical Ink leads them to a world they never knew existed--one teeming with impossible magic, formidable allies, and villains who are determined to destroy everything they hold dear. Soon, Everett must find a way to tap into the most magical power of all: his courage.

In Book 2, Race to Krakatoa, Everett and Bea are drawn even more deeply into the secret world of the Inklings, those who seek to protect the world's rapidly diminishing supply of magic Ink. As the race to control the world's supply of Ink intensifies, signs begin to appear that not is all that it seems and the siblings find themselves in a race against time.

And in Book 3, Operation Bungaree, the final book in the series, Everett is separated from the group in an improbable, perilous predicament. As he fights to find his way home, Bea and the other Inklings search for ways to help him as increasingly clever enemy operatives close in from all sides.

About The Author

J. D. Peabody has been honing his storytelling skills since childhood, in contexts as varied as advertising, song lyrics, screenplays and sermons. He is thrilled to have The Inkwell Chronicles mark his debut venture into children's literature. He and his wife live in the rainy but beautiful Pacific Northwest.
