'An exciting magical mystery and adventure unfolds with twists and turns all the way' - Booktrust on Land of the Last Wildcat

Beautifully illustrated throughout in black and white, Lui Sit's The Wildcat and the Gathering Storm is perfect for animal lovers aged 7+!

After successfully taking an endangered wildcat back home to Linger Island, Puffin discovers that she is now guardian of a new baby kuri wildcat! Kuri kitten, Noma, is wilful, excitable and just discovering her mythical powers. Just as Puffin gets a handle on her new responsibilities, her scientist mother gets into trouble during a research trip - and Puffin, her best friend Lance and Noma have to rush to rescue her.

But all is not as it seems . . . Puffin will have to keep her wits about her to protect the ones she loves, and avoid environmental disaster!

Lui Sit was born in Hong Kong, raised in Australia and lives in London. She fell in love with reading, then writing when she learned English at primary school. Branching out, she started writing plays which she took on the road, to Class 4B & C. Poetry replaced plays when, aged 9, she got paid $5 for her first ever publication – A Ballad of War. As an adult, she has worked in the arts, education, publishing and charity sectors, writing in secret at all these workplaces. True to form, she’s still writing in multiple genres – children’s middle grade, adult short fiction and non-fiction. Becoming a children’s author is her definition of, delight David Dean lives near Manchester with his two cats, and has been illustrating professionally for over twenty years, though he’s been drawing since he was old enough to pick up a pencil. For the past decade he has primarily worked as a book cover illustrator and has now created close to 200 covers, for books by some of the UK’s best-loved children’s writers. That people keep letting him do this baffles him, but brings him endless joy.
