About The Author

Antoine de Saint-Exupéry (1900–1944) was a French writer, poet and aviator whose life was as adventurous as his literary pursuits. Born into an aristocratic family, he developed an early passion for aviation, which became a defining feature of his life. Saint-Exupéry’s experiences as a pioneering airmail pilot in the early days of commercial aviation deeply influenced his worldview, instilling in him a profound appreciation for the fragility of human existence and the importance of connection. During World War II, while serving as a reconnaissance pilot for the Free French Air Force, Saint-Exupéry disappeared during a mission in 1944 and his fate remains a mystery.
