Peny, the penny-saver, has a passion for protecting endangered animals. When she learns that some of her favorite creatures are going extinct, she struggles to figure out a way to help them. But at 80 years old, what could she do? Peny's age leads her to embark on a journey where her new black purse turns her into local and national hero.

Davis, Naomi: - Naomi Nicole Davis lives in Urbandale, Iowa with her parents, sister and dog. Her hobbies include art, swimming, cheer, and organizing. Naomi loves art because she can express herself in many different ways. Her favorite subject besides art is writing. What Naomi remembers most about third grade is that her teacher Ms. Elliott was very nice. Ms. Elliott loved Starbucks, and she made everyone happy. Ms. Elliott also liked to play music, and have fun with the class. Naomi's favorite memory about third grade was watching shows, and eating lunch in the classroom because she turned in all her homework. Naomi would like to attend college at The University of Iowa. When she grows up she hopes to be an interior designer and swim coach.

Elliott, Natalie: - Natalie Elliott was born and raised in Huntington Beach, California. She is a proud UCLA alumna and social justice educator for the last 15 years. She taught elementary school in Los Angeles and Irvine, California as well as in Clive, Iowa. Her hobbies include hanging out with her family and friends, traveling, country music concerts, running, bike riding, beach days, teaching, attending Dallas Cowboys games, and UCLA sporting events. Natalie will always remember Naomi as a very creative, responsible, artistic, and helpful girl in class! She could always count on Naomi to set a good example of work ethic to her classmates. Natalie hopes that this book will inspire students, like Naomi, to pursue their dreams. She also wishes that this book will honor her Aunt Peny's legacy, demonstrating that age is simply just a number.
