Nos hallamos en el siglo K, a�o K. Los seres humanos ya no se ramifican en las tres razas generales descritas, primitivamente, por George Couvier en el siglo XIX: Cauc�sico, Mong�lico y Eti�pico; o la clasificaci�n m�s general de Joseph Gobineau en 'blancos, negros y amarillos'. Durante muchos siglos, los humanos de forma subjetiva, err�nea y arbitraria hab�an categorizado a las personas de acuerdo con el color de la piel. Ahora, en el siglo K, los seres humanos se han diversificado en tres especies �ntegramente disociadas que nada tienen que ver con la escala crom�tica de Von Luschan sino con su contenido gen�tico:

En esta primera parte (Dentro de la Burbuja) es un robot cuidador de una humana quien nos narra la historia. Este robot es tan peque�o, tan peque�o que cabe hasta en un bolsillo pero con el tiempo se har� grande.
