Denton J. Tipton is a New York Times best-selling graphic novelist and a senior editor at IDW Publishing. His credits include Transformers, G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra, Orphan Black: Helsinki, and The X-Files. A former newspaper journalist, his literary influences include Hunter S. Thompson, Ernest Hemingway, Dashiell Hammett, Elmore Leonard and Philip K. Dick. He lives in San Diego with his wife, Merrily, and his best friend Buster.

Menton J. Matthews, commonly known as Menton3, is a comic book artist, illustrator, and musician. He's worked on comics titles including The Fly: Outbreak, The X-Files, Silent Hill, Zombies vs Robots, and Transfusion with Steve Niles (30 Days of Night). His albums, Ganglion and Monocyte, which he released under his performance name, Saltillo, came out in 2006 and 2012 respectively. The release of Monocyte coincided with that of the comic of the same name, which Menton3 wrote and illustrated.
