Woodwork Tools And How To Use Them. William Fairham discusses the use, sharpening and adjustment of hand saws, hand planes, boring tools, chisels, scrapers and all manner of miscellaneous shop tools. Included are chapters of the woodworking shop machinery common to this period.

Woodwork Joints: How They Are Set Out, How Made, And Where Used, Revised Edition. William Fairham authored both the first and revised editions of Woodwork Joints. Included in this republication is the revised edition. Comprehensively updated by Fairham, the revised edition features line drawings and explanatory text for all of the major woodworking joints as well as those that are exotic or specific to a particular need.

Introduction To Woodworking 1920 gives the aspiring, the intermediate as well as the advanced woodworker a solid education in the hand tool skills of the period.

About The Author

Fairham, William: - William Fairham was an early 20th century practical woodworker and educator in the Manual Arts Education system in Great Britain. Fairham authored a number of books in The Woodworker Series, published by Evans Bros. Subsequent to his passing, Evans Bros. hired Charles Hayward to reissue many of William Fairham's texts for the mid 20th century market. William Fairham was trained in the turn of the 20th century woodworking traditions as well as in the Manual Arts Education system which focused on hand work as an essential part of the educational process. His books are primary sources for anyone interested in hand tool woodworking and traditional joinery.

Roberts, Gary: - Gary Roberts is the Publisher of The Toolemera Press imprint, specialized in the re-publication of classic books on early crafts, trades and industries. Since 2006 The Toolemera Press has returned to print books that are essential to the modern craftsperson who is interested in traditional hand tool work. In addition to The Toolemera Press, Gary Roberts has consulted with not-for-profit organizations in the production of select books for fund-raising.
