About Artistam

"Artistam" is a quarterly series of books published under the supervision of an esteemed editorial board. Each issue consists of two main sections:

  • Articles: Covering various themes relevant to contemporary art.
  • Artists and Their Works: Introducing selected artists and showcasing their creations.

The initial focus of the series is on contemporary Iranian art and artists, with plans to expand to feature contemporary artists worldwide in future editions. The featured artworks are chosen through:

  1. Open Calls: Artists are invited to submit their works based on specific themes and mediums.
  2. Evaluation: Submissions are reviewed by the editorial board and guest judges to ensure quality and thematic relevance.
In This Issue: The fourth issue of Artistam International Art Magazine showcases works by 13 Iranian artists, selected through a two-stage jury process. In this issue's curated treasury, jewelry-making emerges as a language of storytelling-one that transcends decoration to encompass meaning, memory, and the artist's personal experiences. The featured works are miniature worlds, rooted in history, emotion, and human existence, coming to life when worn on the body. With a gaze spanning past and present, the artists in this collection reinterpret Iran's cultural heritage, translating narratives of architecture and geometry, myth and ritual, into a contemporary idiom. From established masters to emerging voices, the featured creators explore diverse personal and cultural narratives through Jewellery & Ornaments. This season, we proudly present:
  • Featured Artist of Spring 2025: Nasim Malmir.
Articles in This Issue: This issue features two articles by guest contributors:
  • Laleh Mola: Meta-Compatibility in Artistic Creation - A Case Study of Mahshid Kaffash's Jewelry Works
  • Mitra Bostani: Jewelry as a Cultural Language in Contemporary Wearable Art - A Comparative Study of The History of Buttons and Stitches and Turandot
  • Behnam ShahHosseini: From Patience to Beauty - A Review of the Works of Somayeh Alizadeh
  • Soraya Mohammadi: Jewelry and Metalwork of the Scythians and Cimmerians
