It's Dickens, but told in 30/40 minutes!

This iconic tale of longing, redemption and hope is brought to life in this one-act adaptation, perfect for any performance group that wants to share a little Christmas magic in a shorter performance time.

Playwright Tracy Wells' deft distillation of this Victorian classic keeps even, unhurried pacing while maintaining the integrity and sparkle of the beloved story. Complete with a Turkey Boy, this adaptation is perfect for organizations looking for just a sprinkling of holiday cheer, or those that don't want to start rehearsing in wool coats and top hats while it's still 85 and sunny. "God bless us, everyone!"

Wells, Tracy: - Tracy has loved seeing stories come to life on stage for as long as she can remember. In high school, she was able to tread the boards herself in a few starring roles in her theatre department. Alas, like her character in A Chorus Line, Kristine, she couldn't really sing, so she learned the value of a great non-musical script and the way that a play can touch the lives of an audience through the writers' words and what the actor brings to the stage. It wasn't until years later that Tracy tried her hand at writing. Her husband Eric is a middle school and high school theater director and he needed large cast plays to use with his students. After writing an adaptation of O. Henry's, "The Gift of the Magi", Tracy decided to send it in for publication. Thus, a new career in playwriting was born. Tracy now has more than two-hundred published plays and skits with several publishers and her plays have been produced in all fifty states as well as internationally. In addition to her work for schools and community theatres, Tracy writes Christian plays and skits and is a writer for The Skit Guys. Tracy continues to write plays for the youth and Christian market and resides with her husband and two children in Metro Detroit.
